William A Jones Building, National Capital Region Relocation Admin Facility (NCRRAF)

The William A Jones building is one of the prominent buildings as you enter into Andrews Air Force Base. It was part of a fast track design-build collaboration with Coakley Williams in order to finish completion in under two years in order to meet the BRAC deadlines for moving DOD personnel onto Andrews AFB. The steel-framed office building is five stories tall with a mechanical penthouse with over 380,000 square feet of office space. To meet the AT/FP requirements, more than 110,000 square feet of blast-resistant architectural panels were installed as its façade. The building was also designed to meet the Unified Facilities Criteria for progressive collapse. The building has been certified LEED Gold and received a 2011 National Design-Build Award in the Office Building Category.

Tim Park was one of the lead designers while working at HSMM.
